Banks ranked by brokered deposits

Brokered deposits are deposits gathered through third-party brokers rather than directly from a bank’s own customers. They tend to be sensitive to interest rates and can move when another bank pays more. A higher brokered deposit share therefore indicates greater reliance on money that may move in search of better rates. Some banks use brokered deposits deliberately and profitably as part of their funding approach.

This ranking sorts FDIC-insured banks by brokered deposits as a share of total deposits for the latest quarter available. It is a ranking of one reported ratio, not a grade or a forecast. It does not show the term of those deposits or explain each bank’s reasons for using them. It also does not provide a complete view of an institution’s financial condition. The peer band and percentile appear beside each value. The peer band groups banks with similar total assets, while the percentile compares each bank only with reporting banks in that size group.
