About
Lefomi is an independent information site published by Grid Pulsar for people in the United States. It helps readers understand where their money sits and how an institution compares with others of similar size. The site covers insured banks and credit unions, fintech apps, and cash accounts offered by brokers and fintech companies.
Lefomi is not a bank, credit union, broker, rating agency or financial adviser. Its grades are not credit ratings, regulatory opinions, investment advice or deposit advice. The site does not predict anything or tell readers what to do with their money.
Bank information comes from quarterly FDIC BankFind data and public Call Reports. Credit union information comes from quarterly NCUA 5300 Call Report files. The reported quarters can differ because the agencies publish their data on different schedules. Each institution page identifies the quarter it describes.
Information about fintech apps comes from each app’s own public disclosures. Lefomi records the source, the date reviewed, partner banks and the route through which deposit insurance may reach customers. Cash account rates come from providers’ public pages. Those rates are checked daily and shown with observation dates and times.
Bank grades compare seven publicly reported ratios with results from banks of similar size. Credit union grades compare four publicly reported ratios with results from credit unions of similar size. Banks and credit unions are assessed separately. The calculations use fixed rules, with no individual judgment or manual grade changes.
Scores run from 0 to 100 and describe an institution’s relative position within its size group. Letter grades are drawn from those scores. They are comparisons of public filings for one quarter, not forecasts or independent examinations. Deposit insurance does not depend on a letter grade.
No bank, credit union, app or broker pays to receive a grade, change a grade, obtain a listing or remove one. The grading code does not know which providers have commercial relationships with Lefomi.
Lefomi earns money from affiliate links. A provider may pay Lefomi when a reader opens an account through a marked link. Every affiliate link is identified near the link and explained on the disclosure page. Commercial relationships do not determine grades or the placement of the site’s cash information module.
Every reader-facing sentence is written by an AI language model from the site’s rules and relevant facts. Automated checks reject banned wording, forecasts, institution verdicts and percentages unsupported by the underlying facts. Institution-specific numbers are inserted from the database through fixed templates, and generated text is not edited by hand.
If you find a possible data or text error, email [email protected] and include the page URL. Source data errors are reported to the FDIC or NCUA and corrected during the next data ingest. Calculation errors are corrected, with dated changes recorded on the methodology page.
