At 10.5 percent of assets, net worth is the credit union equivalent of a bank capital ratio; 23.8 percent of similar credit unions have a lower ratio. This cushion absorbs losses for members, and the NCUA treats ratios of 7 percent or more as well capitalized.

Debt securities the credit union intends to hold to maturity equal 72.5 percent of net worth at amortized cost, purchase cost adjusted over time, and 18.7 percent of similar credit unions have a larger position. The NCUA publishes no fair value for these securities, so the figure shows exposure to interest rate moves, not an unrealized or current paper loss, a decline without any sale.
